Sales for International Absorbents hit $9M

International Absorbents Inc., a developer and producer of environmentally friendly pet care and industrial products surpassed $9 million in quarterly sales for the first time. The company has a major facility near Ferndale.

The sales number was for the period that ended Oct. 31. Sales were up 5 percent compared to the same period last year. Sales through the first nine months of the year were at $24.8 million, up 10 percent compared to the same period last year, according to a company press release.

Gordon Ellis, chairman of International Absorbents, said with the recent completion of its expansion projects, the company can now focus on improving the cost-effectiveness of production of absorbent materials.
